Belgium, Pakistan Celebrate 75 Years of Bilateral Relations Together in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of Belgium in Pakistan and Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs celebrated together the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belgium and Pakistan.
The historical ties between the two countries have deepened over the past 75 years, with numerous pivotal moments in their diplomatic relations. Belgium was among the first countries to recognize the Pakistan after its independence in 1947, setting the stage for a long partnership.
Over the years, the two countries have enjoyed mutually-beneficial economic cooperation as Belgian companies have invested in Pakistan, contributing to the country’s economy. Both countries have engaged in cultural and academic exchanges, promoting a better understanding of each other’s cultures and traditions. This exchange has included student scholarships and cultural exhibitions.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of Belgium to Pakistan, Charles Delogne said that the two countries do not only share a successful common past but also look forward to a better common future. He further said both nations commit themselves to further strengthen their relations and explore new avenues of cooperation.
