Brussels: Ali Raza Syed condemns violent attacks on Christian community in Pakistan

Brussels (PR) Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) Ali Raza Syed has strongly condemned the violent attacks by the extremist elements on the places of worship and houses of the Christian community in Jaranwala town of Pakistan.

In his statements issued in Brussels, he said that burning places of worship and houses is an inhuman act and not acceptable in a civilized society.

Ali Raza Syed said that the trends of extremism have been increasing in Pakistan for a long time and no concrete and effective measures have been taken to remedy these trends.
Certain elements use this situation for their own nefarious objectives, and this further encourages the extremists. If serious steps were taken to prevent extremism from the beginning, this incident would not have happened today.

Chairman of KC-EU demanded that the accused of Jaranwala incident should be arrested immediately and punished firmly. He said that apart from this, the entire nation should show solidarity with the affected people and try to heal their wounds by immediately rebuilding churches and houses.

He said about dangers of the growing trends of extremism in Pakistan that extremism is like a pest in any society and the growing trends of extremism in Pakistan are threatening for the peace and security of the country.

He further said that extremism should be stopped in Pakistan, for this purpose the whole nation and the government should make an effective strategy and the elements involved in extremism should be discouraged in every way.
